Treatment Areas

unlocking strength, restoring balance

Regardless of what issue or challenge is bringing you to therapy, I want all my clients to experience compassion and respect. This is a space where you will feel seen and validated, and where we will partner in finding helpful strategies to feel better.

I want to help you figure out how to take back control from your anxiety, depression, or unhelpful coping strategies. With each client, I like to explore what’s been going on and learn more about my client’s goals and values. From there we’ll work together to come up with solutions and practical steps for moving forward.

You can clearly see that you’re being held back from the life you long for:

  • you’re not happy with the state of your relationships.
  • you’re not reaching your goals.
  • you’re not connected with your work.
  • you can’t focus on things that matter to you.
  • you’re always on the look out for the next thing to go wrong.

I have years of experience working with folks wanting to solve a variety of issues ranging from generalized anxiety to learning to live with terminal illness. My approach in session is unique with every client, but I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy. Below are areas I specialize in:

Anxiety

Anxiety can actually be helpful, but it can also be incredibly disruptive when it happens too often or at the wrong time. People who struggle with anxiety go through life with fear. I help people with high functioning anxiety build deeper self-awareness and confidently manage their anxiety. My clients learn how to recognize their anxiety and build practical strategies and coping skills for dealing with it.

Chronic Illness and Caregiver Fatigue

When you or someone you love has been diagnosed with a chronic or terminal medical diagnosis, life changes. Everything feel out of control and the uncertainty of the future is all too real. I give my clients a safe space to acknowledge the disruption of a medical diagnosis and validate the unique experiences that come with this reality. I work with my clients to build healthy methods of coping with the illness while also working on building acceptance for the unknowns and getting back in touch with their identity and values, despite the diagnosis.

Grief and Loss

One of the hardest facts of life is that death, loss, and grief are inevitable. I work with my clients to acknowledge the tremendous loss experienced, and provide the space for them to explore and process their grief. I support my clients as they begin to make meaning out of what happened and find ways to rebuild their lives while honoring the people they love.

Professional Burnout in Healthcare Workers

Working in healthcare, particularly since Covid-19, has become increasingly relentless and all-consuming. The ever-tenuous balance between providing compassionate patient-centered care and working within a large healthcare system has left many providers feeling confused and frustrated. I work with front-line clinicians to enhance their self-identity away from work, identify where they can set boundaries, and build stress-management skills.
