Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am an “out-of-network” provider. This means that I do not work directly with any insurance companies, though your insurance may reimburse you for some of what you pay. Clients are expected to pay for the session when we meet, and upon request, I can provide you with a monthly invoice or “superbill”. You can send this to your insurance requesting reimbursement. You can learn more about this process here.
What do your therapy sessions look like?
My virtual sessions are 45-50 minutes long. I help my clients set the goals they want to work on, and this will guide our work together. Session structure is dependent on a client’s goals and needs, and includes a combination of processing/exploring and practice building.
How much do your sessions cost and do you offer a sliding scale?
My individual sessions are $175. I do not currently offer a sliding scale. I also offer a support group for people with chronic illness, these sessions are $45 per session.
How will I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
The free consultation call is a great place to get a sense if you and I connect! Our first appointment is an exploratory session, where we see if this is a good fit for your needs.
Where are you located?
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Vermont, and all of my sessions are virtual.
How often will we meet?
I ask that every client make an initial commitment to meet weekly. This cadence allows for a consistency where we can observe and address patterns, see what’s working (or not!), and work on processing events in a timely manner.
How do we get started?
Reach out to me via the contact page on this site, by phone (215-650-3783), or by email ([email protected]) to set up a free phone consultation. During this call, I’ll want to hear a bit more about what’s bringing you to therapy and answer any questions or concerns you’ll have. This will help me get a sense whether I am an appropriate therapist for your specific issues.
